“ABC helped me understand how to shape ideas, pitch them better, and see their strengths and weaknesses.”

Can you introduce yourself? Tell us your name, where you’re from, and a bit about your background.
My name is Luka, and I’m from Croatia. I’ve been working as a full-stack senior software engineer for the past six years, and I’ve also been leading teams for about three or four years.
I’ve worked with different programming languages, software solutions, and application platforms, often involved in both client communication and system design.
How are you using your technical background here at ABC Silicon Valley?
I’ve always been curious about how things work, and that’s a big part of my job as well. It helps me understand not just the technical side, but also how business decisions are made and how different people approach building and scaling products.
How did the SheepAI hackathon lead you here?
I participated in the SheepAI hackathon, where our team won second place, and it was an amazing experience. That hackathon eventually led to the ABC Silicon Valley as part of the prize, and I’m really grateful for that opportunity.
What has your experience been like at ABC Silicon Valley?
It has been a great experience meeting so many different people, building connections, and even making friends from places I never expected, like Norway and Slovenia.
The talks, the speakers, and the overall environment are things you normally can’t access easily, and that makes it really valuable.
What skills did you gain from the program?
One of the most useful things I learned was how to pitch ideas better, how to structure them, and how to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
It also helped me understand when to move forward with an idea and when to rethink it.
Beyond that, there’s a lot of motivation and inspiration that comes from being in the Silicon Valley environment itself, which is hard to put into words.
