“ABC Silicon Valley helped me connect my background in politics with how startups and markets actually work.”

Can you introduce yourself? Tell us your name, where you’re from, and a bit about your background.

My name is Lorenzo, and I’m originally from Italy. I hold a Master’s degree in Politics and International Relations.

For the past few years, I’ve been working in M&A as a consultant in a bank, working on deal structuring and negotiations both nationally and internationally.

How did your background lead you to startups and ABC Silicon Valley?

My academic focus in politics and international relations gave me insights into global trends, risk management, and stakeholder analysis.

Even if it may seem unrelated, I think these skills translate quite well into the startup world, especially when it comes to understanding market dynamics and geopolitical trends.

How has ABC contributed to your development?

ABC BootCamps has been a key accelerator for my own project. It helped me build an international network, adopt a more innovation-driven mindset, and also improve my ability to evaluate startups.

What skills did you gain from the program?

One of the main things I improved was public speaking. More generally, I would say it’s a great experience for early graduates, because it gives you a very good inside view of how things work in the real world.

Would you recommend the program?

Yes, definitely. I think Silicon Valley is one of the best places to start an early career, especially if you want to understand how innovation actually works in practice.
