Competition Phases: What to Expect

The ABC Venture Challenge 2026 has three major stages:

Phase 1: Developing and Submitting Your Pitch Deck

The core of your submission is your pitch deck. It should clearly outline the following:

  • A one-line mission statement that explains what your business does, who your target customer is, and your unique value proposition.
  • The unmet need you are addressing and the target customer experiencing this problem.
  • The size of the problem and the market, as well as relevant trends.
  • Your solution and the key benefits it delivers.
  • Your team members, including their roles and key skills.
  • Your competitive advantage and why your strategy stands out from the competition.
  • The expected impact and the outcome your solution will deliver.

In addition to your pitch deck, you should include evidence that validates your business idea. This could be customer feedback, sales data, a prototype or beta product, or any other materials that demonstrate the progress you’ve made so far.

Phase 2: Team Interviews

Selected teams will be invited to a short interview. You’ll have five minutes to pitch your business idea and explain why you’re applying, focusing on the value you hope to gain from the program.

Phase 3: Evaluation and Winners

The judges will evaluate all submissions based on several key criteria:

  • Traction & Validation: Evidence of customer interest or early progress.
  • Market Opportunity: The size and potential of the market for your solution.
  • Team Strength: The team’s skills, knowledge, and dedication to executing the idea.
  • Scalability & Growth: The potential for your business to grow in the future.
  • Pitch Quality: How clearly and effectively your idea is communicated.
