“Through my ABC Toronto entrepreneurship learning experience, I finally understood what entrepreneurship really is and how ideas turn into real projects.”

Can you introduce yourself? Tell us your name, where you’re from, and a bit about your background.

Hi, my name is Anabel, and I’m from Croatia. I study computer science, but I wanted to explore something beyond my field, which is why I became interested in entrepreneurship.

What did you learn during the program?

I feel like I really got a clear understanding of what entrepreneurship actually is, which I didn’t have before.

We learned how to develop a business idea step by step, from creating a business canvas to turning an idea into something that could actually work. That includes thinking about customers, developing the concept further, and understanding how a project comes to life.

What stood out to you the most?

There were many different lessons from professors and company visits, and together they gave a much wider picture of business and entrepreneurship.

I also really liked one of the guest speakers who had a background similar to mine in computer science and machine learning. It made me reflect on my own path and how I might combine those interests with entrepreneurship in the future.

What was your experience like outside the classroom?

The program was very well structured. There was enough time to learn, but also to relax, meet people, and learn from everyday conversations.

I spent most of my free time with other participants — visiting museums, going to the Toronto Islands, exploring the city, and just spending time together. It made the experience more personal and memorable.

Would you recommend ABC Toronto?

Yes, I would definitely recommend it. It was a really interesting and fun experience, and I don’t regret coming at all.
