“ABC Toronto business program taught me how to pitch ideas, build a business, and experience the real world beyond the classroom.”

Can you introduce yourself? Tell us your name, where you’re from, and a bit about your background.

Hi, I’m Minnie, I’m from Hong Kong, and I study Design at the University of Hong Kong. Even though I’m a design student, I’m always interested in the business side, so I also took a second major in Economics.

Why did you want to join ABC Toronto?

I wanted to gain more experience on the business side to apply it to my studies. This is actually my first international exchange, so I was excited to gain hands-on experience and see how business works in the real world.

What have you learned during the program?

I learned how to pitch ideas and build a business from scratch. One of the most helpful tools for me was the Flourishing Business Canvas. It helped me develop a business step by step and make sure I didn’t miss important details.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

I really enjoyed the guest speakers. Most of them have a lot of experience in the real business world, which is really valuable for students who haven’t stepped out of the classroom yet. I also liked the balance between learning and free time. I was able to spend time with friends while still learning a lot.
