Can you introduce yourself? Tell us your name, where you’re from, and a bit about your background.
I’m Omar, I’m from Tunisia, and I’ve been studying in France for the past five years. I completed a two-year diploma in computer science, then started a three-year engineering program in Data Science. I also did a double diploma in Entrepreneurship with Sorbonne University. I’ve always been passionate about entrepreneurship and problem-solving, and I love working with data. My goal is to combine these two passions so that I’ll never feel like I’m “working” a day in my life.
You studied Data Science and also did a Diploma in Entrepreneurship. What inspired you to combine these two fields?
Data science allows me to solve complex problems, and entrepreneurship lets me turn ideas into real-world solutions. Combining them feels natural to me. It’s about creating value while working with something I love.
You developed your startup, MyMatch, at Sorbonne. What motivated you to join ABC Silicon Valley, and how has this experience been different from your previous entrepreneurship studies?
I’ve always been fascinated by the American entrepreneurial spirit, especially Silicon Valley, its accelerators, and venture capital culture. A friend recommended ABC, and I wanted to see it for myself. What I’ve learned here is that while everything has rules in school, in Silicon Valley everything feels possible.
You meet people from all kinds of backgrounds, sometimes even VCs, and you can talk openly about your ideas. It’s a completely different mindset. It challenges you to think bigger, move faster, and think outside the box. I believe every entrepreneur should experience this at least once.
