“ABC was an inspiring experience where I improved my communication skills and learned through real challenges.”

A woman in a blue shirt named Nika, one of the ABC Silicon Valley participants, is presenting.

Can you introduce yourself? Tell us your name, where you’re from, and a bit about your background.

My name is Nika. I’m 22 years old and I come from Croatia. I’m currently studying both Business Economy and Pharmacy, as I’m interested in marketing and management within the pharmaceutical industry.

You study Business Economy and work as a Travel Agency Manager, while also volunteering as a Pharmacy Technician. How do the skills from these different areas help you during the ABC Silicon Valley program?

Communication skills were definitely one of the biggest parts of the program. They’re essential for achieving any goal. Being persuasive and knowing how to market your ideas is also crucial — no idea is better than how well it’s presented.

You participated in the first edition of the ABC Business Plan Competition. What motivated you, and how challenging was it?

It was challenging and required hard work, but it was thrilling and empowering. We learned a lot about ourselves, and it was exciting to create our first business model. I definitely recommend everyone to join the competition.

Would you recommend ABC?

This has been one of the best experiences I’ve had during my studies. I would absolutely recommend ABC to everyone. It’s very fun, and meeting people from different cultures and ways of thinking has been inspiring. I’m sure it will help me both personally and professionally.
